Today is the day: the Sanderson sisters are back to wreak havoc across Salem once more. But what would a Hocus Pocusmovie be without that poor, cursed, lost soul, Billy Butcherson? Here's a hilarious clip of Billy's return.
Tomorrow is the big day. After 29 years, the wait will finally be over and the Sanderson sisters will be back to run amuck in Salem once again. I can't wait! Now, here's a quick look behind the scenes, a hilarious clip, and a few fabulous posters to tide you over until tomorrow.
It's going to be amazing to see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy back together again.
Here's the official synopsis from Disney:
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reunite for the highly anticipated Disney+ Original Movie “Hocus Pocus 2.” The live-action, long awaited sequel to the perennial Halloween classic, which brings back the delightfully wicked Sanderson sisters for more comedic mayhem, will debut on Disney+ on September 30.
It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve. “Hocus Pocus 2” also stars Doug Jones, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belisa Escobedo, Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Paige Henderson and Nina Kitchen.
This Hocus Pocus 2 clip is an absolute delight. I love that the Sanderson sisters have updated their missing brooms with a Swiffer and two wayward Roombas, while Winnie gets the only proper broom, of course. Hilarious!
Hocus Pocus 2 arrives on DisneyPlus on September 30th.
Lock up your children because the Sanderson sisters are headed back to Salem to run amuck. A new trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 has arrived and it looks hilarious!
Hocus Pocus 2 arrives on DisneyPlus on September 30th.
The countdown is on for the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2. Just 29 days to go until the Sanderson sisters are back... will there be hell to pay? Hocus Pocus 2 arrives on DisneyPlus on September 30th.
The first Hocus PocusPOPVinyl trio that Funko created for Spirit Halloween Stores in 2018 is still my favorite. I just love seeing the Sanderson sisters with their makeshift brooms.
A few bewitching Hocus Pocuscollectibles have magically appeared at shopDisney. They are delightfully adorable and are sure to please Hocus Pocus fans.
First up is a charming ornament featuring Mary, Winifred, and Sarah Sanderson, and a tiny Binx the cat. When you press a button on the base, the green flames in the cauldron light up and spooky sounds can be heard. The 4-inch ornament is $26.99.
These mystery pins are fabulously spooky and feature ten different designs including the Sanderson sisters and Billy Butcherson, as well as the transformation spell the witches used on young Thackery Binx. The pins are $17.99 a box, but, as these are a blind box, you won't know which two you get until you open the box.
This spinning pin features Sarah, Winifred, and Mary Sanderson in front of a background that spins and says Amuck, Amuck, Amuck. The pin is $17.99 and is a limited release.
The Sanderson sisters are unexpectedly adorable as plush dolls. The trio of 7-inch dolls come complete with their own cauldron, and they look ready to cast a spell or perhaps brew up a bit of Life Potion. The dolls are available as a set for $39.99.
It looks like this plush Binx has borrowed Dani's hat for Halloween. The 15-inch toy also has a collar with his name emblazoned on a coffin shaped tag. This enchanting feline is $22.99.
And finally, this color-changing ceramic cauldron mug and spoon are perfect for a witches brew. The 18-oz mug changes from solid black on the outside to green drips running down the sides when hot liquid is added. The cup has the Hocus Pocus logo on one side and says "Trouble is brewing" on the other. The mug and spoon are $24.99.
For years, fans of Hocus Pocus have been begging for a sequel. This fall, the sequel will finally appear.

Funko has released a very large collection of new POPVinyl figures as part of their Funkoween: Halfway to Hallow's Eve celebration. These are a few of my favorites. Most are available for pre-order now. First up is a new Hocus Pocusscene. This time, my three favorite witches are performing "I put a spell on you." As with previous Hocus Pocus figures, this one is a Spirit Halloween Store exclusive. It should be available in early July.
Next up is a Hocus Pocus card game. I haven't played any of Funko's games yet, but they always look fun.
Mickey and his pals are dressed to Trick-Or-Treat in this adorable collection. Figures include:
Mickey as a jack-o-lantern
Glow-in-the-dark Mickey is an Amazon exclusive
Donald as a candy corn
Minnie as a candy corn witch
Goofy as a skeleton
Glow-in-the-dark Goofy is an Entertainment Earth exclusive
A new DisneyVillains collection featuring six despicable villains will be a Hot Topic exclusive. The first known figure is Hades with Pain and Panic. All six will connect to form one giant scene.
And speaking of Villains, a new set of Villain Mystery Minis are being released as well. I love the Minis, both for their small size and hilarious expressions. This collection includes:
Evil Queen
Evil Queen as the Old Hag
Chernabog
Lady Tremaine
Queen of Hearts
Captain Hook
Maleficent
Cruella de Ville
Ursula
Jafar
Hades
Dr Facilier
All of these, and quite a few more, should be available by early August. Or, if you're afraid you’ll miss out, why not pre-order now.
I adore Halloween movies! While the super scary or gory films are not my favorite, I love a good thrill and chill each Halloween. If you're looking for a Halloween movie to watch with the family, just check out the links below. You'll find the perfect films for any age group or spookiness level.
Have you seen what's coming to shopDisney on October 4th? It's the Sanderson sisters as fashion dolls! Sarah, Winifred, and Mary Sanderson have never looked better. I'm sure these Hocus Pocuscollectibles will sell out spookily fast.
I found the coolest thing at JoAnn's yesterday. It's a tiny set of four Hocus Pocus themed cookie cutters! Each cutter is less than 2 inches tall, so they'll make the perfect one-bite sugar cookies or maybe even shortbread. The four shapes include: Winifred's spell book, the black flame candle, the Sanderson Sisters' cauldron, and Binx's head. So cute! I can't wait to make cookies!
Have you seen the Hocus Pocus jewelry line from RockLove? It is absolutely fantastic! There are several pieces to choose from and each one comes with a Hocus Pocus travel pouch. First up is the Broom of Winifred Sanderson. Made of solid sterling silver, the three dimensional pendant is engraved with "It's all a bunch of Hocus Pocus!"
Next up is the Sanderson Sisters' Cauldron. Crafted of solid sterling silver it's engraved with a quote from Sarah Sanderson, "Amok Amok Amok Amok!"
Representing all three sisters is the Calming Circle. Available as a necklace, earrings, or ring, the sterling silver design features red, green, and purple crystals and is engraved with a quote from Mary Sanderson, "I suggest we form a calming circle."
And finally, the Snake Brooch design was inspired by those worn by Winifred Sanderson. It is made of brass with a large green cabochon that looks stunning. It's also available in sterling silver as a ring, necklace, and earrings.
RockLove makes many other incredible designs, including ones inspired by Disney Characters and Villains, Star Wars, and Marvel that are well worth a look. The Maleficent collection looks particularly fiendish. Do you have a favorite?
I love Hocus Pocus. It's one of my favorite movies to watch on Halloween. The Sanderson sisters are hilarious and spooky, especially when they're making their Life Potion. This year, to celebrate this witchy delight, I'm making Dead Man's Toe cookies, and I'm sharing the recipe with you.
Dead Man's Toe Cookies
Makes 18-24
112 grams butter, softened
34 grams powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
110 grams gluten free flour (I used the rice flour based recipe from America's Test Kitchen)
54 grams chopped pecans
24 marcona almonds
Preheat oven to 400°. Combine butter, sugar, vanilla and salt and stir until smooth. Add flour and stir well. Mix in chopped pecans. Using a Tablespoon of dough, form into a toe shape and flatten slightly. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet at least one inch apart. Insert a marcona almond into the end of each toe. Bake for 14 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a rack to cool completely. Serve to your favorite witches.
I really do adore all things Hocus Pocus. The clothing, treats, costumes, collectibles, and of course, toys and games. This year, Disney has created a few adorable stuffed toys. This Binx wearing Dani Dennison's witch's hat is ridiculously cute.
The Sanderson sisters have also become stuffed dolls, although these appear to match the cartoony style found on several items this year. Each doll does seem to capture the personality of the witch. Winifred has the perfect smile, and looks ready to call on her beloved booooook.
Mary has her quirky grin and seems about to cause some trouble.
Sarah looks very mischievous and ready to run amuck, amuck, amuck.
If games are more your speed, check out this board game from Ravensberger. I have several of their games, and although sometimes complicated, I really enjoy them. Hocus Pocus is a strategy game where players must work together to stun the Sanderson sisters and keep them from making their potion before the sun rises. I haven't played yet, but it does look fun. All of the toys are available from shopDisney.com, while the game is available from several different retailers.
